I've always believed that coaching is as much or more about helping kids develop character and mentoring them than about just cheering at games. Ten years ago, when I left Lutheran High for a public school, I couldn't use materials from the Fellowship of Christian Athletes anymore. That's when I discovered John Wooden's Pyramid of Success. These 15 blocks will not only make you a better cheerleader and together, make you a better squad- but they will help prepare you for the real world after high school and put you on track for success all through your life.

Gradually, I compiled my own take on how each block related to cheerleading. Initially I just shared them with my squads, then I posted them on my blog. The last two years I posted them as notes on facebook and tagged cheerleaders in the notes. Recently, I assembled them all here on the wiki. I hope you'll read them all and take them to heart.
